New Fluff Animation - Background Peek

Just been working on my new fluff animation this evening – have to say the background was rather tricky to do, especially the grass but got there in the end and am rather pleased with how it has turned out. I will have to add some extra bits like clouds and playing with the idea of birds in the background.

Fluff Animation Background 01

Here is just a quick peek at the background in the first scene or the new Fluff animation.

Whilst working on the rough version of the animation, I have also been watching a series of videos by the creator of ‘Bitey of Brackenwood’, Adam Phillips. In these videos he shows how he animated one of the scenes with the elusive Bitey – I have found them rather interesting to watch and the sounds made highly amusing.

Right since it is half 3am think I will turn in for the night and tackle the next section of the animation tomorrow.

New Fluff Animatic

Just as mentioned in my last entry, here is my animatic to my new Fluff animation. At the moment it is just a little piece that could be an opening sequence to a story – which I have not as yet fleshed out, rather bad with making a story ¬_¬

But as promised it comes with some nice different camera shots, angles and pans. I have just finished putting the music together which I was about to include in this animatic but changed my mind at the last minute – a woman’s prerogative and didn’t want to give too much away as it is a really nice little track.

Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player.

Hopefully will start working on it tomorrows in-between doing other stuff that I just can’t ignore anymore.

Enjoy ^_^

Broken Silence

Well first may I extend my deepest apologises for this long period of utter silence but unfortunately many thing came up and life incidents simply got in the way.

This also means that a unexpected halt occurred in my learning how to use ActionScript 3 – but I have decided not to resume that for the time being because it was getting much more difficult and involves a vast amount of code and very little animation or creativity.

But I have not been a complete lazy sausage – I have been developing my photoshoping skills when discovering a simple tool and brush and shape plug-ins.

I have also been working on some new possible website designs for the Cosplay Cruise site and before anyone thinks to ask, no I don't know for certain if the floating party even will be held in 2011.
I personally hope it will be since I was unable to attend this year's event – again life stuff got in the way. But I would like to thank everyone for all the help to set the event up and support that they have given on the site forum and on the facebook page.

I have recently finished a drawing of fluff that was created entirely in Photoshop – for one I want to get use to drawing more freely on software such as this and second my scanner is broken and I currently cannot afford another ¬_¬

This image has inspired me to start making another fluff animation but this time using different camera angles and shots.
At this very moment working on the first scene and trying to sort out the music and sound for the animatic – once I am happy with the first scene I might give a little sneak preview, but nothing more, don't want to give too much away hehe.

Tutorials and Games for All!

At the moment I have decided to learn ActionScript 3 – it is the version the professional companies are using, plus I feel rather confidant with my use of ActionScript 2.

I am hoping to eventually make a good platform game and nice flash motion graphic for random items – but till then I will be following tutorial steps, I am making good progress so far but it will take some time.

Sure some will disagree but I did find learning how to use ActionScript 2 really helped me get use to the coding environment and use to using sections of code.

I have started a new board called ‘Flash Corner’ which will have everything to do with interactive flash features and free games – currently I am working on a series of tutorial for flash using ActionScript 2 so you can have a go at creating your own.

People are more than welcome to post their own questions, comments and tips on there Just click the link here to go to the forum >>>DizzyVix Forum

Wish me luck and I will post my progress up on the forum in Flash Corner ^_^

Captain Black Bird

This little cheeky feathery pirate was originally designed to be a mascot for the cosplay cruise, but alas the event chairmen rejected him.

However the character design was so appealing that I had to anime him, I am planning to make some more sketches and character animation shorts then eventually a short story. It will also mean that I will have to get use to animating a rocking boat with the character moving freely on board, that is going to be rather tricky to do and will require some short animated tests.

Plus will give me the opportunity to test out the newly obtained Storyboard Pro program, can take a peek at the features on a youtube video.

These are just some rough sketches made – during a meeting lol.

He was based on a cheeky little chubby black bird living in the back garden, since he is a black it would have been silly to give in an eye patch, which is why I opted for the peg leg – that was rather interesting to animate.

Well soon in the next couple of months with have more time to work on more animations and such ^_^

Website Page

A new site page has been added - the website page which features the recently designed CosplayCruise site.

Well never know I might be asked to make another site for someone else so will need to show what I can do.

I have also joined the AnimatorsForum.net today, hopefully I can talk with other animators and discuss some ideas and experiences ^_^
